New, yet familiar
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the latest installment in the Legend of Zelda series on the Wii U. Breath of the Wild changes a lot in the standard Zelda formula that originated from Ocarina of Time. For example, instead of about 10 temples where you have to use a specific item, there are 4 smaller temples combined with 120 mini temples scattered throughout Hyrule. Weapons can also break now, which makes players have to think more about how they use their weapons.
The game allows you to do everything in your own order after leaving the Forgotten Plateau. I find all these changes to the formula of Ocarina of Time to be good. Cijfer:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild feels incredibly innovative. Weapons that break, cooking to replenish your hearts, shrines instead of immense temples... These are all elements we've never seen in the series before and they work incredibly well.
The biggest innovation is an immense world where you're as free as a bird. The world is beautifully designed, full of secrets, has some charming villages, and is a delight to wander around in. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the new installment in the Zelda series, and this game has a new formula compared to the other Zelda games in the series. You awaken in a sort of bath where you have been kept asleep for 100 years. When Link awakens, the whole world is conquered by Ganon. You walk out of the cave where you have been asleep for those 100 years and you see a whole new beautiful world to explore.
You play as Link, one of the former royal guards of Princess Zelda. Now, 100 years later, Zelda and your fellow guards have disappeared, and you must find out what has happened to them in the past 100 years.

As you explore the new world, you find different types of weapons and shields (which unfortunately also break), and of course, your magical Sheikah slate. What you don't do in this game, unlike the other Zelda games, is go from dungeon to dungeon. In fact, you can go straight to Ganon from the beginning to try to defeat him. Along the way in your adventure, you will also find 120 shrines (mini dungeons) that you can complete for a spirit orb, which you can later exchange for a piece of heart.
This is the ultimate adventure Zelda game for gamers who love freedom and prefer to keep the difficulty level high. For those who prefer the old concept where you find an item in each dungeon and defeat a boss, this might not be the game you are waiting for.

Modern classic!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a modern masterpiece.
Once you leave the Great Plateau, you can go anywhere you want. The game truly focuses on exploration, and everywhere you look, you'll find a nice surprise. Instead of an exciting story with cutscenes, stories are told through the world itself. Ruins of familiar locations, murals, or ancient legends told by the few survivors in the world. Everything has a story, and that's what's so beautiful about this game.
I've already played a total of 150 hours and I still come across little things and easter eggs that amaze me. The fighting, exploring, and learning are really great fun. A must-have for both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. Cijfer:

Game of the Year in 2017 for a reason
This game is a special experience. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild quickly lets go of your hand and allows you to explore the world of Hyrule as you see fit. Thanks to the realistic physics, there are numerous ways to overcome puzzles and obstacles, ensuring that everyone has their own unique experience with this game. However, it does lack a compelling story. Apart from a few flashbacks, not much really happens in the storyline. This isn't a big issue though, as the game is more about exploring the open world. It just didn't give me much motivation to continue with the main quests.
I've never been a huge Zelda fan myself, but this game is definitely worth your time! :) Cijfer:

Masterpiece.
This game is simply put, a masterpiece. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available on the Nintendo Wii U and on the Nintendo Switch. The only real difference is that the Wii U experiences more lag than the Nintendo Switch. In any case, the game is definitely not made easy for you. You often have to redo things (because you mostly die) and above all, explore... It's an open-world game and the amount of freedom you get is truly enormous, the physics engine is truly fantastic where, for example, electricity can pass through swords so that you can obtain that one object...

Amazing game! Highly recommended!
This game is fantastic! Honestly, the best Zelda game! It's so visually and gameplay-wise different from the other Zelda games. The story is pretty okay, but nothing to get overly excited about, but let's be serious, you're not playing this game for the story.
There are so many little secrets and things to do everywhere that it's impossible to find this game boring. And even if you don't go for 100%, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still amazing!

Always something to do!
This is definitely my favorite game on the Wii U! This game never fails to make me happy whenever I pick up the controller and turn on my console! There is so much to do in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I personally completed it 100% and it was definitely worth it! I had a lot of fun playing it! Challenging, but fun!
This game is so much fun. In this game, you play as Link. Link has awakened after 100 years. When you wake up, you see monsters everywhere and Ganon (the villain) has taken over the world again, and you (Link) have to save the world.
This game has a very large map (world) and you can go anywhere. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is rated 12+, and I recommend that too. The game is not violent or anything, but it is still quite challenging. Even my friends and I sometimes struggle to figure out what to do. So, we usually just turn to YouTube for tips.
I give this game a 9.5 because it is challenging and not easy to complete. I don't give it a perfect 10 because after defeating Ganon, you just go back to where you left off, but with new loot from the castle. Cijfer:

One of the best games of all time!!
I consider Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BotW) to be one of the best games of all time. You can explore the entire map, choose what you want to do, complete many missions, defeat enemies, and more. There is so much to do in this game! Additionally, the graphics suit the game/story very well. If you're interested, there are also plenty of glitches and tricks you can learn in this game! A true open-world Zelda game
Breath of the Wild is also available on the Switch. The Switch version is slightly better, as the game is rendered in 900p, while on the Wii U it's 720p. Apart from that, the game performs very well on the Wii U.
This game can easily keep you busy for hours. You are completely free to do as you please. You can follow the story or simply wander around in the wilderness for hours.
