The gameplay focuses on hunting and capturing enormous monsters across a variety of environments. You can choose from different weapons, each with its own unique playstyle and skills. The battles are challenging and require strategy, timing, and teamwork, especially in multiplayer mode where you can hunt together with friends. Unfortunately, this is no longer available online, as the Wii U servers were shut down in 2024. One of the highlights was the ability to play both on the Wii U and on the Nintendo 3DS with cross-play, but sadly that is now a thing of the past.

According to many, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the best of the series so far. And I completely agree. The game has once again proven itself to be one where you can spend hours without even realizing it. This is due to the captivating world that combines the tranquility of nature with the overwhelming monsters in the wild.
The idea is to venture into the wilderness and find an impressive monster to then defeat. From this, you obtain items that you can use to create weapons and other tools. But that's not all. Apart from hunting monsters, there are plenty of missions that take you to various places in the world of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a fantastic game. It still demands a lot of time, but it's worth it. The monsters and battles are thrilling. This, to me, is the best game in the entire series. Cijfer:

Epic and Beautiful
Monster Hunter is an epic and lengthy game that I've played for a few hours now. Graphically, it's well done; though it could have been more beautiful. The gameplay takes some getting used to, but it's pretty decent for a Capcom game.
Conversations with non-playable characters are very long, and the text is very small. I personally don't find the story very interesting. The controls leave something to be desired, but maybe I just need to get used to them. Killing monsters is a lot of fun. You just need to get used to which buttons to press, as I mentioned.
There's a lot to discover, many items, lots of dialogue, and plenty of value for your money. I bought Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at a significant discount, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it. If you enjoy hack and slash games with RPG elements, you'll probably find this game pretty cool! Cijfer:
