Fun game, less fun price tag
LEGO Dimensions combines the Toys-To-Life concept, as seen in Skylanders, with the iconic LEGO games.

Various worlds are brought together by a mysterious villain. Scooby-Doo, Portal, Sonic, Batman... you name it. You do need a Starter Pack to get started, and then all the expansion packs to continue. It's a fairly traditional LEGO game with the highly praised humor and gameplay, now with added crossovers.

If you're a big fan, it's enjoyable, but way too expensive for outsiders.

LEGO Dimensions is fun, but quite pricey.
Lego Dimensions is a really nice game with a decent story and a huge variety of characters. You can buy additional LEGO characters and levels through separate LEGO sets. It's a bit like Skylanders. It is a bit more expensive, which takes away some of the fun for me.

Great for kids!
This is a fun game with beautiful worlds. What I really like about this game is that I can play with different minifigures from various worlds together in one world, and using each other's vehicles and gadgets is fantastic! The only downside for me is that you have to buy extra packs/characters to access different worlds and to complete worlds. In LEGO Dimensions.
